Environmental Education, Wayqecha Cloud Forest Biological Station, Peru

Carmen Giusti, the environmental education coordinator for ACCA is explaining the importance of cloud forests to a group of school children from the Queros-Wachiperi Native Community. The children are visiting the Wayqecha Cloud Forest Research Center 1,450 acre research center which protects cloud forest on the Eastern slopes of Andes in the Kcosñipata Valley, Peru (3000 meters above sea level). Wayqecha is run by the Amazon Conservation Association and the Asociación para la Conservación de la Cuenca Amazónica and is part of their strategy to protect the Amazon headwaters.
