View from the 180 foot radio tower at Los Amigos Conservation Concession. The concession was established in 2001 by the Amazon Conservation Association and the Asociación para la Conservación de la Cuenca Amazónica. Los Amigos was the first private conservation concession in the world. The 360,000 acre concession is located between the Madre de Dios River and the Los Amigos River. It protects primary lowland Amazon rainforest in the Manu - Tambopata Conservation Corridor and has a biological research station called CICRA.
