Temporary town that has sprung up along the Interoceanica SUR Highway near Puerto Maldonado, Peru. The houses are all made of tarps and are inhabited by alluvial gold miners and other people making a living along the highway after the new road has been built. Shanty towns like this one can be seen all along the highway in the lowlands. The Interoceanic Highway is a transcontinental highway that passes across Peru and Brazil, connecting the Atlantic to the Pacific Ocean.
